Terms

These cover the SafeLanding app itself, between us and the merchants who install it. Last updated 13 October 2026.

What you are agreeing to

Installing SafeLanding on a Shopify store accepts these terms. If you are installing on behalf of a business, you are confirming you can agree on its behalf.

These are not the terms your customers see. The protection terms you offer shoppers are yours to write and publish, and you set their address in the app's settings.

This is software, not insurance

The most important thing on this page. SafeLanding gives you the tools to run your own delivery guarantee. We are not an insurer, we are not an underwriter, and no third party sits between you and your customer.

  • You set the fee, and you keep all of it.
  • You fund every refund and every replacement, out of your own money.
  • You decide every request. Nothing is approved without you.
  • We never take a share of what you collect.

Which means the obligation to your customer is yours. Depending on where you trade, offering a guarantee like this may be regulated, and working out whether it applies to you is your responsibility, not ours. If you are unsure, take advice before switching it on.

Your side of it

  • Publish protection terms your customers can read, and honour them.
  • Decide requests in good faith and in reasonable time. A guarantee you do not intend to honour is not one we will help you sell.
  • Describe the offer honestly on your storefront. The wording in the cart, checkout and account surfaces is yours to edit, and it must not present the programme as insurance.
  • Keep to Shopify's own terms, and to the law where you sell.

Paying for it

SafeLanding is billed through Shopify, on a flat monthly plan set by your store's order volume. Charges appear on your Shopify invoice, and Shopify handles approval, upgrades, downgrades and cancellation.

  • Every plan starts with a 14 day free trial, so you see the result before you pay.
  • The fee is flat. It is never a percentage of the protection fees you collect.
  • You can change plan or cancel at any time through Shopify. Uninstalling the app ends the subscription.

Prices can change. If they do, we will tell you before it affects you, and Shopify will ask you to approve the new amount. We do not refund part-months.

Fair use

Do not use SafeLanding to mislead shoppers, to charge for a guarantee you will not honour, to get at data belonging to another store, or to interfere with the service working for anyone else.

Availability and liability

We work to keep the app running and correct, but it is provided as is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error free, and we depend on Shopify and on our hosting and email providers.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit, or for the cost of the refunds and replacements you decide to give. Those are the cost of the guarantee you chose to offer. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Ending it

Uninstall whenever you like; that ends these terms and your subscription. We delete the data we hold for your store 48 hours after uninstall, as described in our privacy page.

We can suspend or end access if these terms are broken, or if the app is being used in a way that damages shoppers or other merchants. We will tell you why.

Changes, and where to ask

If these terms change we will update the date at the top and tell merchants in the app. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, and the contracting party is SafeLanding.
